Abstract

Background: Neck pain is neck pain that includes disorders of the nerves, tendons, muscles and ligaments around the neck. Neck pain is often experienced by students due to the use of laptops in a non-ergonomic position for a long duration. This has a neck pain, especially during online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The factors that affect neck pain in students include: not paying attention to good ergonomics when using a laptop as well as being long and continuous which ultimately causes the muscles around the neck. Object: The purpose of this study was to look at the prevalence and risk factors for neck pain in students of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta during the Covid-19 pandemic. Methods: This study uses a quantitative type with a descriptive observational method. Results: From the results of the study, the prevalence of neck pain in health science faculty students was 89.2%. The highest risk factor for neck pain is due to posture errors when studying online with a long duration of more than 2 hours / day. Conclusion: The risk factors affecting neck pain are student learning posture, work duration and statistical ratings. This will cause muscle problems in the neck and handle neck pain complaints.
