Abstract

Immunization is an effort in the form of giving vaccines to a person's body so that it can cause the body's immunity to certain diseases. According to the Indonesian Ministry of Health, the basic immunization coverage rate in Indonesia has increased, however in some areas the coverage rates are still below the national standard. This study aims to determine the relationship between maternal nutritional knowledge and completeness of immunization with the nutritional status of children under five in Boyolali, Banyudono II Public Health Center. This study used an observational study with a cross sectional approach with 138 samples of respondents. Maternal nutrition knowledge data using direct interviews using a questionnaire sheet and basic immunization data 2 looking at the Maternal and Child Health (KIA) book, while the nutritional status of toddlers is determined by the Z-score based on the weight / height index. The research data analysis used was the Spearman Rank correlation test. This study showed that most mothers had less knowledge of immunization, namely 84%. The frequency of completing immunization for children under five showed that 72 respondents (49%) had incomplete immunization status. Several factors are related to the low completeness of immunization for children under five, one of which is the wrong perception of immunization, cultural factors and parents' busyness. The frequency distribution of the nutritional status of children under five shows that most children have a good nutritional status (60%). The relationship between knowledge and nutritional status of children under five obtained a significance value (p-value) of 0.004 and the relationship between the completeness of immunization for children under five and nutritional status obtained a significance value (p-value) of 0.037. The results of this study have a relationship of knowledge about the completeness of immunization to the nutritional status of toddlers at Banyudono II Health Center, Boyolali Regency.
