Abstract

The research is motivated by the relatively low contribution of foreign investment (PMA) to the level of economic growth in Indonesia. Using the Taylor Rule approach, monetary policy analysis is carried out in order to determine the most appropriate policy choices in relation to increasing the role of PMA (Foreign Investment). With the variables used, namely Foreign Investment as the dependent variable and inflation, the real interest rate, PDB, the nominal interest rate as an independent variable. The results show that inflation fluctuations play the most role in explaining FDI (Foreign Investment) fluctuations. Inflation is a macroeconomic problem that often occurs in several countries, especially Indonesia. High inflation can have a negative impact on the national economy which can reduce the purchasing power of people with fixed and low income, and reduce the attractiveness of investors to invest. The data analysis method used in this study is Partial Adjustment Model (PAM). Based on research shows inflation, real interest rates, PDB, nominal interest rates have a significant effect. Meanwhile, foreign investment has no significant effect.
