Abstract

This study aims to determine the difficulties of students in solving Open-Ended questions on the Relationship and Function material in class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Gatak Sukoharjo. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study. The subjects receiving the action were students of class VIII-A SMP Negeri 2 Gatak Sukoharjo with a total of 32 students out of 14 male students and 18 female students. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that technically the use of Open-Ended questions has gone well, the ability to think creatively of students can be seen from the fulfillment of the indicators of difficulty in solving Open-Ended questions as follows: 1) Difficulty in Understanding Questions, 2) Difficulty in Understanding or Applying the Concept, 3) Difficulty in Calculation.
