Abstract

This study aims to investigate: (1) The effect of learning creativity on learning independence. (2) The effect of the school environment on learning independent. (3) The effect of learning creativity and the school environment on learning independence. The research type is comparative causal research with a non-experimental study by using a survey design. The population were 106 students of class XI Accounting at SMK Negeri 1 Pedan. Then, the samples were taken as many as 84 students by using a random sampling technique by lottery. The data collection methods used observation, documentation, and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the regression analysis obtained the regression line equation: Y = 9.174 + 0.436X1 + 0.406X2. The equation showed the learning independence are influenced by learning creativity and the school environment. The results were: (1) Learning Creativity affected the Learning Independence of students in class XI Accounting SMK N 1 Pedan. (2) The school environment affected the Learning Independence of students in class XI Accounting at SMK N 1 Pedan. (3) Learning Activity and the School Environment affected the Learning Independence of students in class XI Accounting at SMK N 1 Pedan. Based on the results of the Determination Coefficient (R2) of 0.520 or 52%, it means that the Learning Creativity and School Environment variables affected Learning Independence by 52%, while 48% is influenced by other variables which were not examined. If there is an increase in the combination of two independent variable, it will be followed by an increase in learning independence. For further researchers, it is expected to add other independent variabel.
