Abstract

As cities develop, cities experience significant development so that they can differentiate the characteristics of each city. Serengan sub-district is experiencing congestion in terms of population and space, so it can automatically be seen that the existence of human activities can affect the use of space. The objectives of this research are; (1) Knowing the Patterns of Economic Activity in Serengan Subdistrict, Surakarta, (2) Analyzing 2014 and 2019 Spatial Utilization in Serengan Subdistrict, Surakarta, (3) Assessing the influence of Economic Activities with Spatial Use The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative method with the SDA approach or secondary data analysis. The analytical method to answer the objective with correlation analysis to answer the relationship between economic activity and spatial use by knowing the patterns of economic activity with data on the number of economic sectors, the number of economic facilities, the population and the population by occupation. Then analyze space use by knowing land use. With correlation and spatial analysis can see the relationship between economic activity and space utilization. The research results obtained (1) Serengan District has a pattern of economic activity in the form of commercial distribution and informal production (2) The existing use of space is dominated by trade and services, while the pattern of use is settlement, trade and services with an area of 167.05 Ha for settlement. whereas trade and services have an area of 90.55 Ha. (3) The relationship between economic activity and spatial use is influenced by individual or group behavior towards each land function and by certain collective activity systems.
