Abstract

This study aims to describe 1) The reason the school made the javanese karawitan art as an extracurricular activity at SD N Bekonang 01. 2) Describe the implementation of the javanese karawitan extracurricular activities at SD N Bekonang 01. 3) Describe the character values in the javanese karawitan art extracurricular activities in SD N Bekonang 01. This type of research is a qualitative research with a descriptive qualitative research design. Checking the validity of the data using triangulation of sources. Data analysis techniques using interactive data analysis techniques consisting of data reduction, presentation data and conclusion. The research results show that: 1) The reason the school chose the javanese karawitan art as an extracurricular activity at SD N Bekonang 01 is because there are facilities that support the implementation of karawitan extracurricular activities, namely the Sanggar Sekar Arum which is approximately 50 meters from the school. 2) Implementation of javanese karawitan arts extracurricular activities is carried out at the Sekar Arum Studio, at 13.00 WIB or after Dzuhur prayer every Tuesday for grade 4 and Wednesday for grade 5. Students are divided into 3 groups with each group containing approximately 12 students according to the number of equipment that students play. 3) The character values contained in the karawitan arts extracurricular activities at SD N Bekonang 01 include religious values, disciplinary values, tolerance values, hard work values, creative values, independent values, curiosity values, homeland love values, value achievement, friendly / communicative value, value social care, value responsibility. These character values were obtained from the beginning of the activity to the end of the javanese karawitan arts extracurricular activities at SD N Bekonang 01.
