Abstract

The objectives of this research is to describe a.) Cultivating character and tolerance at SD Negeri Sanggrahan 01, b.) Strengthening the character of tolerance from scout extracurricular activities at SD Negeri Sanggrahan 01, c.) Solution of scout extracurricular activities to strengthen the character of tolerance at SD Negeri Sanggrahan 01. This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive qualitative research design. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. The validity of the data used technique and source triangulation. Data analysisis include data reduction, data presentasion, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that: 1) Character planting and tolerance are instilled through good habituation and socialization. 2) Strengthening the character of tolerance through scout extracurricular activities with learning activities, accustoming students to mingling, doing, allowing in appreciating an opinion, behavior, habit. 3) Solutions of strengthening the character of tolerance through scout extracurricular activities and some of the problems encountered among others: further communication about cooperation with teachers, parents, and principals, setting good role models for students, rescheduling so students don't feel bored and want to go home quickly.
