Abstract

The piston combustion motor uses several cylinders in which there is a piston that moves translation (back and forth) which by the connecting rod (drive rod) is connected to the crankshaft. The translational motion of the piston causes rotational motion on the crankshaft and conversely the rotational motion of the crankshaft causes translational motion in the piston. Therefore, a total overhaul was carried out on the Komatsu S4D105-1 Diesel Engine to determine the mechanism and construction of the diesel engine. Diesel Engine Komatsu S4D105-1 has an overhaul sequence are exhaust, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, turbocharge, cylinder head top cover, fan belt, crankshaft pulley, alternator, water pump, motor starter, oil filter, oil pan, fuel pump, oil pump, cylinder head side cover, rocker arm shaft, cylinder head, flywheel, flywheel housing, timing gear set, front cover, piston, connecting rod, and crankshaft. Diesel Engine Komatsu S4D105-1 is in-line type, has a bore diameter of 104.6 mm and a stroke of 116.4 mm, uses the direct injection type combustion chamber type and has a firing order of 1-2-4-3, the distance between the crank pins is equal to 180º. Of the four crank pins that are divided into two sides, crank pin 1 with crank pin 4 and crank pin 2 with crank pin 3.
