Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the structure of the exposition text argument in students' work. This research uses qualitative research in the form of qualitative descriptive. The data in this study are in the form of exposition text discourse, amounting to 10 discourses. Data collection using watch and record. The data analysis technique used is the qualification method. The completeness contained in each text is different. The results of this study indicate that in data 1 to data 10 there is an argument structure in the form of 7 claims, 9 data, 4 guarantor, 8 qualifications, 10 supporters, and 0 objections. So it can be seen that in the exposition text written by the eighth grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Kartasura, there is no complete argument structure in each data.
