Abstract

This research aims to find out the application of problem based learning can improve the learning achievement of basic banking lessons in the group of vocational school students in Tipes village, Serengan Sub-district of Surakarta. This type of research is a type of Class Action Research. Data collection techniques use observations, interviews or discussions, document studies, questionnaires, and tests. Application of group learning with Problem Based Learning (PBL), through 4 stages, namely: planning, implementation of actions, observation, and reflection. The results showed that (1) The cooperative learning of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model had a positive impact in improving student learning performance marked by increased student learning outcomes from precyclical (50.0%), cycle I (70%), and cycle II (100%), 2) Implementation of Problem Based Learning model increases learning activities of class X vocational students in Tipes village, Serengan, Surakarta.
