Abstract

The lecture period is a very complex transition of learning patterns experienced by students. If they do not have the readiness to face these changes, it is possible for students to experience pressure and not be able to meet the demands in lectures. Unfulfilled lecture demands can result in academic stress. Procrastination is a form of unpreparedness in meeting the demands of learning on campus and is associated with academic stress. On the other hand, peer support can have a positive impact on individual academic stress. This study aims to determine the relationship of procrastination with academic stress and peer support with academic stress. The subjects in this study were 200 active undergraduate students of the Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. Sampling using simple random sampling. This study uses a quantitative approach. The data collection tools used were the procrastination scale, the peer support scale, and the academic stress scale. Data analysis was performed using the Spearman Rho test. Based on the results of data analysis, there is a significant positive relationship between procrastination and student academic stress, which means that the higher the academic stress, the higher the procrastination and a significant negative relationship between peer support and student academic stress, which means that the higher the academic stress, the lower the support. friends of the same age. The percentage of academic stress, procrastination, and peer support shows moderate category.
