Abstract

This study aims to determine the characteristics of diabetes mellitus patients in Indonesia based on basic health research for the last 5 years. The sample in this study were all populations who had diabetes mellitus based on a doctor's diagnosis in residents aged ≥ 15 years according to the characteristics in the 2018 basic health research data. This type of research is a quantitative study using descriptive methods. The data analysis used in this study is secondary data analysis from the Basic Health Research Data in 2018. The results of this study were based on a doctor's diagnosis in the population aged ≥ 15 years old. The results illustrated that the sampled population who had diabetes mellitus could be sorted out as 6.3% of the patients were a group of 55-64 years old people, 2.4% were females, 2.9% did not complete SD / MI, 4.2% were in civil servant / TNI / Police / BUMN / BUMD jobs, and the dwelling places with diabetes mellitus are urban dwellings (2,6%).
