Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe factors to form religious characters in youth in Cerbonan Village, Karanganyar District, Karanganyar District, as well as the effort that influence it, and its impact. The research method used is descriptive-qualitative interactive with exploratory studies. The subjects of this study were the Village Head, Parents or Villagers, young people, and young women. The object of this research is an exploratory study of the factors that influence the formation of religious character in youth in Cerbonan Village, Karanganyar District, Karanganyar Regency. Data validity is done by triangulating data sources and triangulation techniques. This research data analysis technique uses an interactive model. The results showed that the efforts to form religious character in the youth of Cerbonan Village were carried out through self-concept by honing spiritual intelligence. Other efforts are carried out through the environment, namely the family, school, and social environment. Formation of religious character in youth in the family environment through parenting parents by strengthening the education of faith and morals, in the school environment through the habituation method. Thehabituation thst’s done of smiles, greetings, and salim (3S) and habituation worship in congregation, and in the social environment by creating a good community environment by holding activities that are able to contribute to shape the religious character of youth. Youth themselves must be selective in choosing friends. Self-concept factors include self-appearance and faith in beliefs. Family environmental factors include parenting and exemplary parenting. School environment factors are in the form of adequate facilities and joint commitment of school residents. While the social environment factors are social friends and the culture of the area of residence. The formation of religious character in the youth of Cerbonan Village had a positive impact. The positive impact is evident from the youth's awareness to carry out his religious commands and stay away from His prohibitions, good behavior in parents and get used to pray when going out and enter the house, study earnestly, enthusiastically get used to smiling, greeting, and salim (3S) and attend prayer services in congregation, and the existence of tolerance between religious communities and routine social service activities.
