Abstract

Road is an important infrastructure for the people of Indonesia. The function of road is as a medium for movement of people or goods from one place to another with or without transportation. Road damage is caused by various factors, for example poor quality asphalts, load loads on vehicles that cross the road, poor drainage, and others. Road damage checks using PCI method (Pavement Condition Index). The purpose of this research is to know the road repair from visual assesment using PCI method, alternative road repair solutions used, and also the estimated cost incurred for road repair cost. The examination of road damage a long way 2,5 km in Tentara Pelajar street Karanganyar district. The examination begins by identifying the type of road damage that exist on the road. The results obtained from the field survey were analyzed using PCI method by finding the value of density, deduct value, total deduct value, corrected deduct value, and can be seen the results of PCI values that exist on the road. Alternative solution of road repair determined after analyzing the types of road damage that exist on the road. The next step is to calculate the volume of each type of road repair and estimated costs incurred for road repair. Analysis of road damage on the Student Army roads using the PCI method, there are several types of road damage, after analyzing the results obtained a PCI value of 67.2 with a sufficient level of damage. Various road damage. Among them were alligator cracking, polished aggregate, block cracking, bumps and sags, corrugation, depression, edge cracking, junction reflection cracking, lane or shoulder, patching and utility cut patching, potholes, rutting, shoving, slippage cracking, swelling, weahering. or ravelling. After checking the road damage, it is necessary to repair using latasir, tack coat, prime coat, asphalt treated base layer (ATBL), top laston (ATB), and excavation of pavement using class A aggregates.
