Abstract

This study discusses to describe the errors and factors of errors experienced by students in solving fraction problems based on mathematical logical intelligence and gender of students. This type of research is qualitative research. The subjects of this study were 30 students of class VII A of SMP N Colomadu. Data collection techniques in this study used written tests, interviews, and documentation. Data validity is done by triangulating data from test and interview methods. Data analysis technique is done by data reduction, data presentation, conclusion. Based on research results obtained by subjects who have high mathematical intelligence, male subjects make calculating errors, make mistakes in examining hypotheses and make mistakes checking again, and female subjects make mistakes in calculating operations, conducting research examining hypotheses and conducting re-checking tests. Subjects who have a mathematical logical intelligence level are men doing class comparing problems, making arithmetic errors, doing hypotheses and making mistakes checking again, and female subjects doing classes comparing problems, making calculating error operations, doing research hypotheses and checking again. Subjects who have low mathematical logical intelligence levels of men carry out misclassification, error comparing, miscalculating operations, inductive penalty errors, errors examining hypotheses and making mistakes checking again, and female subjects related to differences, errors comparing, miscalculating operations, errors inductive reasoning, errors completing hypotheses and making mistakes check back.
