Abstract

Child labor in Indonesia is 981.9 thousand or 2.65 percent of the total children aged 5-17 years in 2018. The purpose of this study is to determine the subjective well-being of working school children. This study uses a qualitative phenomenological approach. The selection of research subjects using snowball. Characteristics of the subjects are students aged 12 to 18 years who work at least 7 hours a week. The data collection method uses a semi-structured interview technique. The results showed that the background of working students is family economic problem. Subjective Well-being includes cognitive evaluation that is life satisfaction and affective evaluation. Subjective well-being aspects on the subject of life satisfaction are influenced by the domain of family, friends, time use, school, job, and health. Their positive affects are happy, spirit, and patience. Negative affects that appear are sad, disappointed, afraid, anxious, embarrassed, and annoyed.
