Abstract

The path in the form of the Mount Lawu climbing route is part of a tourism facility. Mountain climbing activities have increased the number of enthusiasts to meet the tourism needs of the community. The existence of adequate and comfortable facilities and facilities is an important consideration in order to maintain the quality of the tourism served. The land conditions for the hiking trail have a hilly topography and have steep to very steep slopes. The influence of these topographic conditions causes a mismatch on the climbing route so that it is not comfortable for its users. This research was conducted to determine the land suitability class of the climbing route location and to compare the suitability class of the two hiking routes. The method used was a survey and data analysis with descriptive methods and scoring methods, namely a method by adding up scores or numbers from the results of research and sampling. The results showed that the research area had 2 terrain suitability classes, namely class II (appropriate) and class III (moderate). The difference in the number of limiting factors in the land unit that is traversed, shows that the Cemoro Kandang route tends to be heavier in the slope class
