Abstract

The Bengawan Solo River is one of the rivers in Java that flows from Wonogiri Regency which has a dominant vegetation with acacia plants. The river walls in this area average steep and high cliffs which result in catastrophic erosion. The middle areas of the Bengawan Solo River are Karanganyar, Sukoharjo, Klaten, Solo, Sragen, and Ngawi. The problem of the banks of the Bengawan Solo River is one of the 5 watersheds (DAS) that suffered severe damage. low awareness of the community around the banks of the Bengawan Solo River who dumped household waste (domestic waste), illegal logging, and disposal of factory waste. Local Governments (Pemda) whose areas this river passes, namely Wonogiri, Klaten, Sukoharjo, Karanganyar, and Solo are less concerned about ecosystem damage due to environmental pollution. The ecosystem damage that occurred in the Bengawan Solo River moved the author to help the Karanganyar City government to restore the function of the Bengawan Solo River, namely making the Bengawan Solo Riverbank area a sports venue and a city park which later became a public space around Gondangrejo, Karanganyar and accommodating various activities. the surrounding community.
