Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of character education in Adiwiyata School at SMK Negeri 6 Surakarta in the 2020/2021 school year. The character of caring for the environment that contains 18 character values must be developed by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia (Depdikbud RI). This research uses descriptive qualitative, the research subjects are the class XI accounting teacher and class XI accounting student. The object of research is the Implementation of Character Education in Adiwiyata School at SMK Negeri 6 Surakarta. Methods of data collection using interviews, observation, and documentation. The results showed that the Adiwiyata program could be applied or applied with character education based on environmental care for class XI accounting students at SMK Negeri 6 Surakarta. This activity is carried out through environment-based school policies or Go Green, environmentally friendly implementation with socialization about schools that care for the environment, this activity is participatory which involves students directly, such as class pickets, clean Friday. The obstacles faced were that during the implementation of the Adiwiyata program as the Implementation of Character Education in the Adiwiyata School at SMK Negeri 6 Surakarta were that there were still some students who littered, kept food wrappers in table drawers, were not orderly in carrying out pickets in class. The solution is to always remind students to be obedient to school rules. Menengur students who littered, held socialization for the Adiwiyata program, involved students directly participating in school programs, gave sanctions to students about violations of environmental cleanliness.
