Abstract

The level of competitiveness is one of the parameters in the concept of a sustainable city. Subosukawonosraten is an abbreviation of the name of the area, namely Surakarta City, Boyolali Regency, Sukoharjo Regency, Karanganyar Regency, Wonogiri Regency, Sragen Regency and Klaten Regency. Competitiveness analysis and analysis of regional potential are important so that cities, districts, or regions can assess, improve and publish the competitive position of the region with other regions. The objectives of this study are 1) To determine the variation in levels and tendencies of competitiveness. 2) Knowing the determinants of competitiveness. 3) Knowing the trend of the leading sector Subosukawonosraten in 2010-2018. The research method used is secondary data analysis. The analysis method used is descriptive qualitative, descriptive quantitative and geographic analysis. The analysis techniques used are competitiveness analysis, location quotient (LQ) and panel data regression. The results of this study indicate that: 1) The variation in the level of regional competitiveness during 2010-2018 has increased and decreased in rank, except for the variable natural resources which is quite constant. The regional economy variable tends to be dominated by Sragen Regency in terms of ranking, seen through indicators that are dominated by Surakarta City. The natural resource variable is dominated by Wonogiri Regency. The natural resource variable is dominated by Klaten Regency. 2) The determinant factor of regional competitiveness is the variable of natural resources with a coefficient value of 0.999848, while the regional economy and human resources variables have a smaller value, namely 0.999649. 3). The slice result from combining regional competitiveness and basic sectors shows the potential for specific sectors. The city of Surakarta is construction, information and communication and educational services. The agricultural, forestry and fisheries sectors are owned by Boyolali and Wonogiri Regencies, the electricity and gas procurement sector by Karanganyar Regency, the transportation and warehousing sectors by Sukoharjo Regency. Wholesale and retail trade; car and motorcycle repair by Sragen Regency, information and communication sector by Sukoharjo Regency, service sector by Sukoharjo, Wonogiri and Klaten districts.
