Abstract

Malnutrition is a condition of nutrient deficiency caused by low consumption of energy and protein for a long period of time (Krisnansari, 2010). Inadequate nutrition, apart from being caused by low consumption of energy and protein, can also be caused by consumption of fats and carbohydrates.The general objective of this study was to determine the correlation between the level of consumption of protein, fat and carbohydrates and the nutritional status of children under five in Cangkol Village, Sukoharjo Regency. This study was an observational study with a cross sectional approach. The number of samples in this study was 59 children under five in Cangkol Village, Sukoharjo Regency. The consumption level data used the semi quantitative FFQ for the last three months and used a Nutri survey. Nutritional status data for weight / age indicators were obtained from measuring the weight of children under five using digital trampling scales processed using the WHO Anthro program. The correlation test was carried out using the SPSS rank spearman test program. The distribution of respondents based on the level of low and good protein consumption was 6.8% and 49.2%. The average level of protein consumption for children under five was 117.36 grams. The distribution of low and good fat consumption levels was 91.5% and 5.1% with an average consumption of children under five of 63.23 grams. The distribution of low and good level of carbohydrate consumption was 84.7% and 13.6% with an average level of carbohydrate consumption for children under five was 66.47 grams. There was a correlation between the level of protein, fat, and carbohydrate consumption with the nutritional status of children under five with a value of p = 0.001, p = 0.001, p = 0.002 (<0.05). There was a correlation between the level of macro nutrient consumption and the nutritional status of children under five in Cangkol Village, Sukoharjo.
