Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of reward and punishment according to teacher perceptions in the management of thematic learning in SD Negeri Wironanggan 01 in the 2019/2020 school year. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection was taken using interview and documentation techniques. The interview technique involved grade 1 to grade 6 teachers and representatives from parents of students. The results showed that the behavior exhibited by students after getting rewards is that students become better personal, disciplined, polite, diligent, and help each other if there are friends who do not understand the learning material. In addition, it can also be seen that the behavior exhibited by students after getting punishment most students feel cured, ashamed, and do not repeat their actions. The responses given by the class teacher regarding the application of reward and punishment methods are able to improve student learning discipline. Students become more enthusiastic, and able to provide a deterrent effect for students. Based on the responses that have been given by the class teacher in line with the opinions of representatives of the parents of students that the implementation of reward and punishment is able to give a good influence to make children more diligent, enthusiastic and disciplined.
