Abstract

Background: One of the causes of infant mortality is lack of breastfeeding. Exclusive breastfeeding for infants aged 0-6 months is influenced by various factors, one of which is external factors, namely working mothers, working hours, husbands support, workplace support and formula feeding. Breastfeeding by working mothers is influenced by the support and facilities from the workplace. Objective: To determine the relationship between workplace support and breastfeeding for female workers. Method: quantitative research with correlational design with cross sectional design by measuring variables at the same time to determine whether there is a relationship between variables. The sample technique used purposive sampling. Result: The workplace support for breastfeeding for women workers who are currently breastfeeding is lacking. Breastfeeding is mostly partial breastfeeding, namely by providing additional food or drinks such as formula milk. The bivariate analysis p value is 0.881 (p> 0.05), which states that there is no relationship between workplace support and breastfeeding for female workers. Suggestion: it is better if the research will be carried out more focused on the workplaces of the government or private sector to be more focused.
