Abstract

Hypertension is a risk factor that can cause complications such as heart disease, stroke and kidney disease, which increase in cases continuously every year. There are risk factors that can increase the occurrence of hypertension including consumption of foods that contain too much salt and fat, alcohol comsumption, lack of physical activity, smoking and stress. This study aims to review the literatures in the relationship between physical activity with the incidence of hypertension. This literature review the relationship between physical activity with the incidence of hypertension was searched using the GARUDA portal and google scholar. The keywords used are “hypertension”, “blood pressure”, “hypertension and physical activity” and “ blood pressure and physical activity”. Based on the search results, the researcher found 59 literatures on the GARUDA portal anda 39 literature on the google scholar. The screening results obtained 3 literature on the GARUDA portal and 2 literature on the google scholar that match the inclusion criteria. The results of the bivariate analysis showed that physical activity was a risk factor for hypertension. The results of multivariate analysis show that light physical activity can increase the risk of developing hypertension, but moderate physical activity does not increase the risk of developing hypertension. The elderly can do moderate physical activity at least 150 minutes or 17 minutes of high physical activity within a week. Meanwhile, adults need to do physical activity for 150 minutes of moderate physical activity or 75 minutes of high physical activity a week. As for the age of the child, at least do moderate to high physical activity for 60 minutes every day.
