Abstract

Depok Sub-district is one of the residential areas in Sleman Regency with a massive development. Increased motor vehicles and reducing vegetation are some of the contributing factors of Global warming. Therefore, it will impact for the air quality in Sleman Regency. The purposes of this research, 1) Identifying the distribution of vegetation land cover area around the road section between the D.I Province of Yogyakarta - Central Java in some sub-districts of Depok. 2) Analyze the ability of the vegetation to absorb carbon dioxide around the inter-Yogyakarta road segment between Yogyakarta and Central Java in most Depok sub-districts. 3) Analyze carbon dioxide emissions level in vehicles produced around the D.I Yogyakarta - Central Java road section in a part of Depok sub-district. 4) Analyze comparison between the value of the vegetable absorption ability and motor carbon dioxide emissions around the D.I Yogyakarta - Central Java road in part Depok sub-districts. The method used is on-screen digitization and field observations. The ability of vegetation to absorb carbon dioxide (CO2) is calculated based on the results of the area and type of vegetation cover, while carbon dioxide emissions are calculated based on the length of the road, the number of motor vehicles, emission factors, and fuel consumption in motorized vehicles, further analysis in this research in the form of spatial analysis and quantitative descriptive. The results of this research are, 1) Land cover area for distribution of vegetation is 1.115,5 Ha, with land cover area for tree vegetation is 581,8 Ha, rice fields area covering is 328 Ha, grass vegetation 198,6 Ha, bushes covering area is 7,1 Ha. 2) The ability of absorption for vegetation in Depok Subdistrict is 77,114.6 kg/h. 3) The total value of carbon dioxide (CO2) emission vehicles in Depok District in the morning amounted to 784,045.78 kg/h and at afternoon amounted to 660,535.62 kg/h. 4) Comparison of the value of Vegetation Absorption (kg / hour) and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions of pilot vehicles (kg/h) in Depok District is dominated by CO2 emissions so that it can produce a decrease in air quality. Comparison between the value of the vegetable absorption ability and motor carbon dioxide emissions are not balanced and it dominated by CO2 emissions so that it will decrease air quality in Depok Subdistrict.
