Abstract

Kampung Batik Laweyan, Solo, Central Java is the center of batik making in the city of Surakarta, there are dozens of SME batik cloth craftsmen who still use traditional methods to make original or high quality batik cloth. In the process of pengorotan batik cloth that still uses the scoop as a means to filter out lumps of liquid night foam on the surface of the water, causing a sense of laziness. To simplify the process of pengorotan in collecting liquid waxes so that craftsmen can collect more used lorotan nights, then a design tool is needed. Innovation in making the design of tools using the Quality Function Development method. The method is used so that products that are made, have the features and attributes expected by consumers. Products that are made, have ease and comfort in use so that it can be used by users both adult men and women, can simplify the process of penglorotan and convenient for use by both male and female adult operators. The results of the research conducted is the creation of a design tool that is effective and easy to use.
