Abstract

People with diabetes mellitus can occue due to high blood glucose levels and insulin resistance. Indicators that need to be considered in diabetes mellitus are the monitoring of blood glucose levels. Factors that influence blood glucose levels are age, sex, drug adherence, diet compliance and nutrient intake including vitamin D intake. In Tawangsari Health Center, the percentage of diabetes mellitus is high, that is 83%. This study aims to determine the relationship of vitamin D intake with fasting blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in Puskesmas Tawangsari.This research method is observational with cross-sectional approach. Taking 27 research subjects by taking into account the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data collection of vitamin D intake by directinterview using the Semi Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire (SQFFQ) method for the past 1 months and data collection of blood glucose levels using venous blood samples by spectrophotometer method, to determine the relationship of vitamin D intake with fasting blood glucose levels using Pearson Product Moment. The results showed the study sample had d vitamin D intake that was less with a percentage of 100% and high fasting blood glucose levels with a percentage of 81,5%. Statistical test results between vitamin D intake and fasting blood glucose levels using the SPSS program showed that there was no relationship between vitamin D intake with fasting blood glucose level (p=0,488). There is no relationship between vitamin D intake and fasting blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in Tawangsari Health Centers. Foodstuffs that have high vitamin D levels namely fish egg for that can be used as education by nutrition workers in Tawangsari Health Centers.
