Abstract

This study aims to describe the Adiwiyata school of SMP Negeri 1 Jatinom, to describe the inculcation of character education values in Adiwiyata schools at SMP Negeri 1 Jatinom. This type of research is qualitative research with ethnographic design. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Jatinom. The subjects of this study were the principal, Adiwiyata coordinator, teachers, and students. Data collection techniques using observation techniques, in-depth interviews and documentation. The data validity technique used triangulation of sources and methods. The data analysis technique used the interactive model of Miles and Huberman through the steps of data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate that Adiwiyata school is an ideal place of education to obtain a variety of knowledge and ethical norms as a human basis so as to create welfare. Adiwiyata program is a government program to encourage the creation of environmental schools that are clean and aware of environmental sustainability. The values of character education at Adiwiyata school at SMP Negeri 1 Jatinom are instilled through integrated subjects in the 5 main pillars of strengthening character education which include religion, mutual cooperation, independence, integrity, and nationalism. By doing activities directly and routine habituation. Schools can internalize the values of religious character, honesty, tolerance, discipline, hard work, creative, independent, democracy, curiosity, national spirit, love for the country, respect for achievement, communicative, peace-loving, love to read, care for the environment, care social and responsibility.
