Abstract

Abstract This study aims to describe the errors of students in solving the opportunity problem story problems in class X Accounting 01 of SMK N Prawira Marta and analyze the factors that cause errors made by students. This type of research is qualitative descriptive. The subjects of this study were class X Accounting 01 of SMK N Prawira Marta academic year 2019/2020. Data collection methods used in this study were tests, interviews, and documentation. The technique of analyzing data is through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study showed that the mistakes made by students in solving logarithm: (1) errors in reading the questions of 14,47% ; (2) errors in understanding the meaning of the question of 32,08% ; (3) errors in choosing transformation of 20,12% ; (4) errors in the processing process of 28,93% ; (5) errors in writing the final answer of 4,40% .Factors that cause students to make mistakes are students incorrectly read the questions, students do not understand the purpose of the questions asked, students have not mastered the material logarithm, students forget the formula, students do not practice in working on material problems, students are not careful in counting, students do not write the final answer to logarithm.
