Abstract

Sleman Regency is an area that has a rapid development and has a strong appeal for investors because most of the universities both public and private in the Special Region of Yogyakarta are in Sleman Regency. This rapid development has resulted in an increasing demand for land, meanwhile there is less and less available vacant land. Adjustment of land use to the function of the area is very important to preserve and prevent environmental damage and even a disaster. The analysis of land use suitability to regional functions in Sleman Regency in 2019 aims to (1) Know the land use distribution in Sleman Regency in 2019, (2) Know the function of the area in Sleman Regency in 2019, (3) Analyze the compatibility between land use in Sleman Regency in 2019 with regional functions (Law Number 26 Year 2007). This research uses indirect observation method, with interpretation of satellite image data. The sampling method used is random sampling to validate land use data. Spatial descriptive data analysis is performed in analyzing the results of processing suitability to the function of the region. The use of land in Sleman Regency is distinguished by several types including forests, shrubs, settlements, plantations, rice fields, dry fields, and waters. The largest land use in Sleman Regency is dominated by irrigated rice fields covering an area of 26174.96 hectares. The function of the area in Sleman Regency is divided into four namely annual crop cultivation areas, protected areas, buffer zones, and seasonal and residential plantations. The most dominant area of the area is the annual plantations and settlements, which is 44933.71 hectares. Overall the area of land use that is in accordance with the function of the existing area is 46025.36 hectares and the land use that is not suitable is 10811.48 hectares. The district which has the highest level of suitability of land use to the function of the highest area is Ngaglik District of 3686.39 hectares. The lowest suitability level is Turi District of 1727.20 hectares. Keywords: Regional Function, Conformity, Land Use.
