Abstract

Today's modern industrial world can no longer be separated from the problem of automation for various production facilities or production support. One of the tools in the industry that can be driven automatically is a material handling crane. Material handling cranes are a type of conveyance used in industry to move raw materials, finished products, and other objects that require tools to move them. One control system that is widely used by companies is PLC. The purpose of this research is to create a trainer kit material handling crane control system using the Omron PLC while analyzing the program that will be used on the Omron PLC, and making a learning module for students who are just learning. This study uses the ADDIE model because it has the concept of product design and development, and also its ability to solve problems. The ADDIE model consists of 5 stages namely Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. With the results obtained in the form of a new control system in the PLC Omron-based material handling crane trainer with ladder diagram programming language and also the addition of a signal converter board that is used as a signal converter between the PLC and the material handling crane trainer kit. The learning module is also the output of this research to support learning in industrial automation.
