Abstract

Coconut water contains auxin and cytokinin hormones which are important in the growth of leaf numbers in plants. Coconut water contains a lot of sodium (Na), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg) ferum (Fe) and sulfur which are also beneficial for plant growth. Tofu liquid waste contains substances such as calories, carbohydrates, fats and proteins. This study aims to determine the utilization of coconut water and tofu liquid waste as POC in the growth of garlic using a hydroponic wick system. This research was conducted on Jl. Rajang Jorong Aro Kandikir Gaduik, Tilantang Kamang District, West Sumatra in February-August 2020. The method used was an experiment with a completely randomized design consisting of 6 treatments with 2 factors with nutritional composition and planting media, namely liquid waste poc. Tofu with coconut husk, poc of liquid waste tofu with rockwoll, poc of coconut water with coconut husk, poc. The data analysis technique used was Two way ANOVA. The results showed that the highest average plant height of garlic for 1 month was rockwoll media and coconut water with a height of 33.4 cm, with 4.6 leaves with a leaf weight of 25.7 g.
