Abstract

The research aims to identify the students creative thinking ability and Adversity Quotient (AQ) students through open ended study. The study uses a descriptive qualitative study method of the subject of studies are 6 students of 3 male students and 3 female students of the grade 8 in MTs N 2 Sragen. Data collection techniques of test, AQ questionnaire, interviews, and documentation. Analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation, and drawing clonclusions. Research indicates that students creative thinking and adversity quotient of students completed the open ended matter have a distinction between them: 1) low creative students and the AQ quitters category in solving problems must re-understand; 2) moderate and creative students and the AQ campers category of problem solving can understand well although having to rethink the issue; 3) students high creative and AQ categories can understand problems well and fight the challenge.
