Abstract

Survival plants are wild and safe plants that can be used for consumption in emergencies and have the potential to provide essential nutrients for humans. The purpose of this study was to find out the types of survival plants in the forest area of Mount Lawu via the Singolangu route, Magetan Regency. Sampling used a purposive sampling technique with a roaming method by walking along the hiking trail at an altitude of 1,400 m.dpl-1,600 m.dpl. on every encounter of survival plants. Identification was done by recording morphological characteristics, habitus and its benefits. The results of this study found 12 species of survival plants, namely Cyathea excilis, Etlingera elatior, Cyperus rotundus, Cantella asiatica, Rubus rosifolius, Rubus niveus, Hydrocotyle silbthorpiodies, Clinacantus nutans, Melastoma malabathricum, Selaginella willdonovii, Lantana camara and Piper aduncumi L.
