Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe: 1) The effect of high school education background on entrepreneurial interest among PTS students in Surakarta. 2) The effect of parents' work on entrepreneurial interest among PTS students in Surakarta. 3) Effects of high school education background and parents' occupation on entrepreneurship interests among PTS students in Surakarta. The population in this study were 340 UMS accounting education students and 180 Surakarta Surakarta USB students. The number of research samples were 172 respondents of UMS students and 119 Surakarta Surakarta USB students with probability random sampling. The results of the regression analysis showed that the interest in entrepreneurship was influenced by the high school education background and the work of parents. The conclusions drawn are: 1) The background of a high school education towards the entrepreneurial interest of UMS students. This can be seen from the t test results obtained t count> t table, 7.045> 1.960 and the significance value <0.05, ie 0.000 with SR of 34% and SE of 21.7%. 2) Senior high school educational background towards entrepreneurship interests of USB Surakarta students. This can be seen from the t test results obtained t count> t table, 6.808> 1.980 and the significance value <0.05, ie 0.000 with SR of 31% and SE 21.9%. 3) The work of parents towards the entrepreneurial interest of UMS students. This can be seen from the t test results obtained tcount> ttable, 11.325> 1.960 and a significance value <0.05, ie 0.000 with SR of 66% and SE 42.1%. 4) Parents' work towards USB Surakarta student entrepreneurship interests. This can be seen from the t test results obtained t count> t table, 11,801> 1,980 and the significance value <0.05, ie 0,000 with SR of 69% and SE 48.6%. 5) High school education background and parents' occupation influence the interest in entrepreneurship of UMS and USB Surakarta students. This can be seen from the F test results obtained Fcount> Ftable, namely 148.958 and 138.675> 3,000 and a significance value <0.05, ie 0.000. With the results of the coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.638 and 0.705, it shows that the influence of high school education background and parents' occupation on entrepreneurial interest is 63.8% for UMS students and 70.5% for Surakarta USB students, while the remaining 36, 2% for UMS students and 29.5% for Surakarta USB students are influenced by other variables not examined in this study.
