Abstract

The increase in population affects the need for residential land. The higher the population, the higher the demand for land for settlements. High population growth will encourage the built land to dominate and urge various natural spaces to change and change functions into settlements. The selection of potential locations for the development of residential areas in the study area makes interesting problems as the object of research. This is because Muntilan District has the highest population density and settlement density in Magelang Regency. This study aims to (1) determine potential locations, (2) analyze the distribution of potential locations for the development of residential areas in accordance with the spatial plan in Muntilan District, and (3) create interactive maps with storymaps. The methods witch is used in this research are with surveys, modeling Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), weighted quantitative approaches, and overlay techniques.The parameters witch is used in this study are road networks, disaster vulnerability, land use, slope, health facilities, education facilities, and economic facilities. The results of this study is that it is knownthat the district of Muntilan has a very potential area for the development of residential areas with an area of 32,76 ha atau 1,09%.
