Abstract

Writing essays is not easy. Writing an essay needs to use ideas that have been experienced every day. In writing essays there are still many who write carelessly. Based on the above understanding, the researcher is interested in researching "Analysis of the use of affixation in class essays XI SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Simo Boyolali”. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The object in this study is a word that contains an affixation error in a student essay. The data collection technique used to collect data is the listening method. After the listening method is done the next step is to use note-taking techniques. Note technique in question is the result of student essays. At this stage the researcher notes the use of affixation. Misuse of affixation in class essays by students XI SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Simo Boyolali 22 data were identified. The data is classified into 8 errors, which are errors in using the prefix, the prefix men-, the prefix di-, the prefix ter-, the prefix pen-, the confix- tional, pen-an, simulfiks.
