Abstract

This research is titled Circular Mobility of Street Vendors in Karanganyar Square. The objectives of this study are (1) to determine the characteristics of street vendors in the Karanganyar Square, (2) to analyze the circular mobility of the street vendors in the Karanganyar Square. (3) Determine the driving factors for circular mobility. The method in this study is a survey method. The total sample in this study 50 respondents using a list of questions that have been made, namely the questionnaire. The sampling method uses a quota sample that is sampling by determining the sample criteria after that determine the amount of quota of each criterion that must be met in the sampling. The data taken includes primary data obtained from the interview results of respondents and secondary data obtained from relevant institutions. The results of this study are (1) Social and economic characteristics of the street vendors, the average age of the street vendors including 36 years of productive age, Most of them are male by 72%, the most recent education of street vendors is mostly junior high school graduates of 42%, marital status of street vendors as many as 74% are married, the average income per day of street vendors is Rp. 367,000, with an average number of family dependents of 2 people. (2) The mobility of street vendors mostly uses motor transportation facilities by 74%, the area of origin of street vendors as much as 40% comes from outside the sub-districts within the district. (3) the factors that cause the mobility of street vendors are the pull factors from the destination area are economic factors.
