Abstract

Sukoharjo has many educational institutions ranging from elementary school to state and private tertiary institutions. At the SMA / MA level, Sukoharjo regency has 19 Islamic schools, therefore a typology of Islamic schools is needed. The existence of this school typology is one of the efforts to find out the position of Islamic schools in the region. This study aims to analyze the typology of Islamic schools and determine whether there is an influence of typology of Islamic schools on the influx of new high school / MA students and the number of new Islamic school students in Sukoharjo Regency. This research is a kind of combined research between quantitative and qualitative research (Mix Methods). The data source used in this study was the results of the 2017-2019 SMA / MA National Examination in Sukoharjo Regency. Data collection techniques used were documentation, questionnaire and interview techniques. Data analysis method used is descriptive analytic method. The results showed that there were 4 types of high school / MA level Islamic schools in Sukoharjo Regency, namely 4 types of improving schools, 5 types of dynamic schools, 9 types of schools that were trapped, and 1 Islamic school underdeveloped type. Based on the analysis of sample schools of each type of Islamic school in Sukoharjo Regency, it was found that there was a positive and significant effect on the type of school on the flows of new students as much as 63,7%, where Islamic schools with the advanced type had the highest number of new students among the other types.
