Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of modified exhaust manifold with inner diameter variations of orifice the engine performance of the Suzuki Satria F 150 with indicators the form of an increase the value of torque, power, and KBBS. The research was conducted using a testing method that began with make a specimens the form of orifice plates with inner diameter variations of 18, 20 and 22 mm. The orifice plate is applied on the exhaust manifold section for testing using dyno test to produce torque, power and engine speed data. Fuel consumption is measured using a measuring pipe. The results showed that the size of the inner diameter of the orifice affected the performance of the Suzuki Satria F 150. The smaller inner diameter of the orifice, lower the engine speed needed to reach peak torque. The greater inner diameter of the orifice, higher the peak power produced. The smaller inner diameter of the orifice, resulting KBBS is also lower. Keyword: Exhaust manifold, Modification, Orifice, Engine performance
