Abstract

This study aims to describe the types of animals contained in fables written by student grades VII of SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Surakarta. The type of research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data source of this research was taken from students’ essays in the form of fables. Data collection technique used in this study were listening and note taking techniques. The data analysis technique used in this study is the document analysis technique of the ethographic model. The validity of the data used in this study is the theory triangulation. The results of this study indicate that there are 29 types of animal figures contained in fables, consisting of mouse deer, rabbit, ants, wolves, cats, pigeons, turtles, squirrels, chickens, lions, deer and others.
