Abstract

The quality of learner in education in the field of cognitive and psicomotor an advantage that must be considered in the era of modern technology of the 21st century. This can be improved by maximizing the high level thinking skill of learner does’nt in the learning model, but also in the development of the preparation of exam question at school. School exam question to stimulate learner to think at the high level are question that have a good level of readability. This research aims to (1) Analyze Indonesian school exam question on the KD literature for Junior High Schools in Sukoharjo Regency in the 2018-2019 academic year according to HOTS question criteria. (2) Analyze the level of readability of school exam question on the KD literature for Junior High School in Sukoharjo Regency in the 2018-2019 academic year. The method used in this research is qualitative method aimed at understanding social phenomena from the prespective of participant with research design literature and content analyze. The result of this research showed that of the total number of Indonesian about 24% rate of Junior High School are questions that are included in KD literature , 14% about the question of HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skill), 2% about the question of MOTS (Medium Order Thinking Skill), and 12% about the question of LOTS (Low Order Thinking Skill). Then there are 22% of questions with a high level of readability and are appropriate for application at the junior high school level. The conclusion of this research is that the question that has met the criteria about HOTS has the characteristics of a cognitive level (C4) and (C6) with a concentration on activities about finding, producing, and categoriez. These questions have a stimulus that can trigger learner to reason and think at a higher level. As for the level of readability of the questions already has a high level of readability, it is proven based on the result of research and discussions that have been carried out than the questions have fulfilled the characteristics of HOTS questions, which is a measure of the level of readability of each questions.
