Abstract

To fulfill daily needs, namely the importance of electricity or energy, consumers or customers need to make requests for the installation of Prepaid Meters by submitting an application to the PLN office in the area of consumer domicile and the consumer must also sign an agreement known as the Power Purchase Agreement Prepaid. In the contents of the power purchase agreement, it contains a standard agreement or exoneration clause that was prepared and made in advance by the PLN. The purpose of this study is to analyze and describe the profile of the standard clauses and exoneration clauses in prepaid electricity purchase agreements and determine the forms of legal protection for consumers involved in the agreement. The research method uses the legal research method with a normative doctrinal approach. This type of research is descriptive. Sources and types of data are secondary data. The data collection method uses the method of collecting library research. The results showed that in the power purchase agreement there were 3 (three) numbers in it which contained a standard clause which was an exoneration clause and there were still some numbers that were still in conflict with Article 1239, 1240, 1243 of the Civil Code and Article 4.5, 6, and 7 of Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection.
