Abstract

This research has a progress to find out the mathematical literacy ability of class X students in solving the problem of linear quadratic inequality system in terms of gender. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. Data collection in this study uses four linear class inequality tests, student interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data collection and data presentation. The subjects of this study are four clas X students of SMA Negeri 1 Karanggede, Boyolali, consisting of two female students and two mile students, was chosen based on consideration and mathematics teacher and the result of the analysis obtained. The result showed the the mathematics literacy ability o class X students in solving problems in the Linear Squares Inequality System was reviewed and Gender have a few differences. From the result of the study that female students have five aspect of mathematical literacy, namely communication skills, mathematization, determining strategies to solve problems, the use of operations and symbol language, formal language and technical language and reasoning abilities. While male students have four aspect of mathematical literacy, namely communication skills, mathematization, determining strategies to solve problems, the use of operations and symbol language, formal language and technical language
