Abstract

Learning process must have limitations developed by students. Learning difficulty is a condition of teaching learning process in which learners do not study properly. It is principally a real symptom in behavior manifestation, either direct or indirect. It has impact on the students’ achievement due to the achievement is achieved by learning process at school as well as outside the school and it is based on students’ intention and effort to study. It happens in learning Tax Administration. Thus, teachers’ effort to recover this learning difficulty is important to improve teaching learning in classroom. The study aims to: (1) explain factors causing students’ learning difficulty to understand Tax Administration subject of XI year students in SMK Batik 1 Surakarta. (2) explain how the teachers’ effort to recover students’ learning difficulty to understand Tax Administration of XI year students in SMK Batik 1 Surakarta. It is a descriptive study. The key instrument of the study is the researcher itself. The techniques of collecting data are observation, interview, and document. Data is analyzed by data reduction and drawing conclusion. The result of the study shows that, (1) the students’ knowledge level is very low to understand Tax Administration, they joke to their friend when teacher explains the lesson. The students regard that the lesson is boring and difficult to memorize. Teacher has created various learning steps to have pleasing learning atmosphere. (2) Most students do not assignment given by their teacher, in their opinion the assignment is boring due to it is only essay questions and multiple choice. The students get bored over the assignment. The teacher tries to give various assignments, such as finding information in form of clipping, mind map and so on. (3) Lack of parents support causes students do not study at home. It is shown by most students do not complete the assignment. Parents do not control students in studying. The teacher’ effort to recover this problem is by composing students’ result of study and general students’ behavior. Besides, teacher delivers the problem during parents-teachers meeting at school.
