Abstract

The rapid development of technology today, the availability of electrical energy must be met very well. Electricity is a source of energy that is needed for its role in daily life. It is known that almost all human activities require electrical energy. The distribution and distribution of electric power cannot be separated from a protection system in order to avoid the risk of interference which is certainly not desirable. To meet the reliability of the availability and distribution of electrical energy, the need for an adequate protection system must be absolutely necessary. The main function of the protection system equipment is to identify or detect interference and separate the affected part of the network from other parts that are still in a normal state and at the same time secure the part of damage that can cause greater losses. A protection system is needed that meets the requirements including sensitivity, selectivity, fast and reliable all of which can be obtained with the accuracy of the protection equipment settings. The protective equipment used is Over Current Relay (OCR). The function of this OCR is to detect interference by securing electrical equipment due to phase-to-phase interference, and can be used as a safety overload by instructing the power breaker to be able to open when interference occurs according to the time characteristics. The analysis carried out aims to calculate the magnitude of the short-circuit fault current then determine the protection relay settings and compare with the relay settings in the field. Based on the results of comparisons and calculations on the Power Transformform relay is 0.707 seconds on the calculation results and 0.615 seconds on the transformer relay testing data. This shows that the relay condition used is still in good condition or working in accordance with the relay value setting.
