Abstract

Energy Saving Car Contest (KMHE) is a competition held by DIKTI aimed at testing the ability to design and build vehicles that are safe, economical and environmentally friendly (Technical Regulations for KMHE 2019). In the 2019 KMHE the Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta participated by sending three cars, one of which was the Urban Concept Electric Motor category named UEV-15 Trisula. In the last 2019 KMHE competition, especially the Urban Concept UEV-15 Trident experienced several obstacles, one of which was the body part because it was not in accordance with existing technical regulations. The Value Engineering method is expected to produce criteria as a basis for developing and choosing alternative body designs; measuring the performance, cost, and value of design alternatives; and provide the best design alternative based on the results of the evaluation criteria so that it can correct the discrepancy and then improve the performance and performance of the KMHE in 2020.
