Abstract

Currently there are still many industries that involve human labor directly, one of them is Boyolali tile SMEs using the role of humans in the activity of Manual Material Handling (MMH) which can cause disruption in musculoskeletal. This study aims to identify and evaluate unsafe work postures for workers and recommend the design of assistive devices. Data processing using 2 methods, Evaluación del Riesgo Individual (ERIN) is a measurement of 7 variables namely the trunk, shoulders / arms, hands / wrists, neck, duration of work, intensity of effort and self-assessment. The Loading on the Upper Body Assessment (LUBA) method is a code of sitting or standing posture by giving additional weight to the posture that matches the experimental results felt by the joints in the upper body. Both methods are used in order to get the results of work postures on dangerous stations, then redesigned using CATIA Software. The results of data processing obtained as many as 3 work stations with 9 work postures where the ERIN method has 4 postures in the medium category, 5 postures in the high category. LUBA has 1 work posture in category II, 4 posture in category III, and 4 posture in category IV which needs immediate improvement. Then the need for ergonomic aids and PPE to reduce risk so that the creation of health safety while working. Keywords: Musculoskeletal, Ergonomics, ERIN, LUBA, CATIA
