Abstract

The objectives of this study are: (1) To examine the contribution of motivation, independence and discipline of learning to learning outcomes in mathematics indirectly through critical thinking. (2) Testing the motivation, independence and discipline of learning about critical thinking. (3) Test the contribution of critical thinking to mathematics learning outcomes. This type of research is based on a quantitative approach. The population of the study was 224 students of class VII SMP N 2 Kebakkramat. The research sample of 130 students was determined by the Slovin formula. The sampling technique uses proportional random sampling. Data collection techniques with tests, questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis techniques using path analysis with the assumption of normality, linearity, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity, and autocorrelation. Research results, (1) There is a contribution of motivation, independence and discipline of learning simultaneously to the learning outcomes of mathematics through critical thinking by 60.2%. (2) There is a contribution of motivation, independence, and discipline of learning towards critical thinking by 83.6%. (3) There is a significant contribution of critical thinking to mathematics learning outcomes by 30 %.
